DO NOT FEED THE POOR WITH THEIR OWN BLOOD!
May I ask all the Dankwambos in leadership positions today, where were you when the number of less privilege were piling up in your states? Why are all the Dankwambos considering to share Ramadan provisions to the less privileged people today, could this be part of their responsibilities as a Governors today and what part of the Budget is the money coming from? In essence, what are you trying to gain by given those less privileged that are fasting, will there be another provision to the less privilege that are not Fasting alongside the Muslims? For how long have you been part of this old system, what is the difference between today and that yesterday when things were much better than today?
In the case of my own state, the political gimmick started when Goje declared Hashidu a failure, but, we have come to realize that Hashidu did not fail, he was building institutions and decentralizing political structures which is far more expensive than building physical structures and he refused to build individual political tugs. Goje set the ball rolling to a baby state, made himself a dirty fortune and offered us structures, after taken control of the political institutions, he also wanted to pocket the few public institutions to himself. Dankwambo picked the same idea from Goje. But being an Accountant, he diverted every penny in the state in building physical structures for the sake of political competition with his ex boss. The provisions of the law that guides and protects budget implementation frown at any single means of diversion of resources, and the wisdom behind such restriction is to ensure that all sectors of the Arms of Governance are fully functional. Let their be attention in Education because people must everyday learn, let there be attention in Health because, people must go to hospital, let there be attention in Agriculture because, we need food. The law did not say take the whole money including security budget and build only roads, it does not support taking the whole money to put in building only classrooms, when there is need for industries where the youths need to be engaged. We are gradually witnessing how salaries are been denied as a result of diversion of funds. We have seen how almost N10 billion for SURE P was diverted into politics.
When diversion of funds and deprivation of resources to all sectors exceed limits, starvation sets in and underdevelopment and insecurity surfaced, a typical scenario in the Northern Nigeria today.
Therefore, your act of disregarding all voices of the poor and responding to your personal political desires will only subject many families to destitution hence, turning healthy citizens into yet another set of less privileged in the states. Do not feed the poor from the same money that supposed to be used judiciously for their well being irrespective of their tribe, religion and their age. These are components of injustice, these are instruments of division which is more of using religion to cause disaffection amongst citizens.
We must never support such political motives, manipulations and dishonesty. Let them not use our heads in the same manner they diverted our attention from reasonable to unreasonable diversion of public funds to sponsor religious trips to holy lands. Destroy our learning institutions and send their children to schools abroad, dismantled our community structures into Armageddons.
