It’ll be tragic for consensus arrangement to fail - Atiku
Atiku spoke during a courtesy call on Governor Danjuma Goje in Gombe yesterday. He added that his newly constituted campaign team was made of people of proven integrity with the capability to deliver the presidential ticket to the northern presidential aspirant adding, “we are determined to pursue this goal because it is unarguably the turn of northern Nigeria to produce the next presidential candidate under the PDP”, he added.
In his remark, Governor Goje promised to mobilize the citizens of his state to vote en mass for the PDP, noting that he had the hope that the state would be given a commensurate political dividend when PDP was voted into power.
The governor lamented that Gombe State was among the six states that gave the highest votes to the PDP in the last presidential election but that unfortunately, the state was only compensated with a minister of state, whereas there were some other states that did not vote for the PDP but got better treatment.
Goje added that in 2007, Gombe was among the six states that gave PDP highest votes in the country and among the only three states in the North that gave the PDP over one million votes.
He further opined that the citizens of the state were willing to cast their vote for the PDP but this time around to only a presidential aspirant that could make firm promises to the state.
